FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fred J. Miller Inc. Covid-19 Response, April 3
PPE Production and Extended Closure

First and foremost, we would like to acknowledge the pageantry community who has taken quite a hit these past couple of weeks. With the cancellation of all WGI Championships, to the cancellation of the DCI Summer tour, we are standing by all of the performers, directors, designers, volunteers and organization leaders who have had to live through this unprecedented time. Although this is all so difficult, we have no doubt that our community will continue to be resilient, strong, and return better than ever.

Since suspending uniform manufacturing operations on March 24th, we have been able to manufacture over 5,000 more masks that have been completely patterned, cut, and sewn by FJM. Those masks have been distributed to several agencies, as well as a local senior care facility in the Miamisburg, OH area. We are continuing to work with those in need of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), keeping in mind the health and safety of our employees as well as obtainable capacity. There are discussions in progress with several organizations that will hopefully provide FJM the resources to manufacture medically certified PPE, as that is certainly in highest demand. More updates will follow once we have more information.

Ohio Governor Mike Dewine’s stay-at-home order and closure of non-essential businesses has been extended to May 1st. With this order, FJM will remain closed for uniform production until that order is lifted.  As May 1st is a Friday, FJM has every intention of resuming business to full strength on Monday, May 4th unless otherwise ordered by the government.

Our production team is second-to-none, and continues to forecast different uniform manufacturing schedules in order to make up the time lost during this pandemic. We could not be more confident in our team’s abilities and want to assure everyone that every effort is going into maintaining the standard we have set for ourselves and for our products.

In the meantime, fjminc.com continues to operate as normal and will continue to accept merchandise orders for shoes, gloves, guard equipment etc. Although we cannot guarantee specific delivery times with almost all of our suppliers being affected by Covid-19, we understand the importance of preparing for the fall season and will provide shipping details via email for all orders placed online as they become available.

As a company whose mission is, “To instill unity, pride, and confidence in performers and directors in the pageantry field by providing quality products, creative ideas, superior service, and educational programs,” we are determined to do everything we can to serve our clients and meet their needs. Our sales representatives are continuing to operate remotely at full strength, and are always available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

Deeply ingrained in the very fabric of modern pageantry, the FJM family stands as an involved, active, and creative member of the pageantry community, with strong ties and relationships. With over 55 years of Colorguard, Dance Team, Drum Major, and Band Leadership Clinics, and a team of Winter Guard International, Bands of America, and Drum Corps International Hall of Fame honorees, the very character of FJM has been forged by "leading through serving". To inspire students to grow and thrive, we are honored to sponsor and support pageantry activities, especially scholarships.
