After many years sending our Drum Majors to a different camp, we decided to go with the FJM clinic.  Since the color guard/leadership track was offered as well as drum major, I thought it would be nice to send my four guard seniors.   I cannot say how impressed I was with what they took from the camp.  The drum majors have excellent conducting skills and took diligent notes on their scores, found excellent musical places to add nuances such as crescendos and releases, and were very well prepared to conduct by band camp.

The guard seniors now function exceptionally well as a leadership team, and the entire tone of the guard as a whole has been altered for the better.  They work hard, have fun, and take direction very well.  I no longer have fears for any collision of attitudes during the fall season.  I already have kids begging me to send them to FJM next year and I am planning on sending ALL of my section leaders.
